WOMMA Standard 2

Excellent Customer Service. Amazing Food. Great Ambience. These are some of the few things that we read on reviews, but, are they TRUE? Do they really love it or do they just get paid to write it? How would we know?

Standard 2, which is the diclosure of any gifts/compensation, would make it easy for consumers to judge if it's true or not. It will most definitely influence the purchasing decisions of customers, especially if they know that the person is paid to promote it. It would then lower the credibility of the review. If you believe in a product/service, you would not need to be compensated to promote it. This standard eliminates the tendency of companies to deceive consumers by paying people to promote their products/services.
