Trusting the Expert’s Opinion
Although a few of the standards of conduct for WOMMA really stand out to me, the one I feel is most important from my point of view as a consumer is standard 2 - disclosure of consideration of compensation received. When I am in the market to buy something that I’m not that knowledgeable about, whether it be a tool for my kitchen or a new hair product, I rely on the expertise of the people who are around those products and goods and therefore are much more well-informed about them. When I go to a store and shell out my hard earned cash, I want to know that they are being honest and I can trust them about their opinions of certain products instead of wondering if they are only recommending something for their own personal gain.
