WOMMA Core Values: Honesty at its Foundation

Each of the Word of Mouth Marketing Association's (WOMMA) core values: Trust, Integrity, Respect, Honesty, Responsibility and Privacy are instrumental in ensuring that the word of mouth and social media industry continues to grow and play a positive role in the relationship between consumers and marketers.

When I looked at each of the values, I concluded that 'Honesty' carried the most weight. Honesty is the foundational component of any meaningful relationship. True forms of 'Trust' and 'Respect' can take root only if 'Honesty' has already been established. Similarly, 'Integrity' requires 'Honesty' for it to be established. Lastly, 'Responsibility' and 'Privacy' (in this context protecting the privacy of consumers) have the best chance of developing with 'Honesty' in place.
